2016 Postseason Honors

2016 All-CSFL Team Penn quarterback Mike McCurdy was named the 2016 CSFL Player of the Year, taking home the Kay Trophy as the league’s top performer for the second consecutive season. Chestnut Hill quarterback Michael Marino was named the Freshman of the Year to highlight the All-CSFL team that was announced Nov. 21. The league’s head coaches nominate and select the All-CSFL team each season. The All-CSFL team, which is linked above and listed below, includes 117 players from eight different schools. 2016 Week 8 Review

Penn wrapped up the 2016 CSFL title by posting its second undefeated season ever and its first unblemished 7-0 record since 2000 to highlight the final week of the season. All three of the other games in the league finished as one-possession games as the league saved the best for the final week. Highlights included a defensive battle that saw Navy top Army 10-3 and Mansfield and Franklin Pierce both winning close games. 2016 Week 7 Review

Week seven of the CSFL season saw a pair of games come down to the final play in what proved to be the most exciting week of the season. Penn claimed at least a share of the league title with a double OT win over Cornell, while Franklin Pierce defeated Chestnut Hill by catching a Hail Mary for a TD on the final play of the game. Mansfield picked up its first win of the season in the third game of the week, while Army and Navy were on a bye.
