2017 Week 2 Review

The second week of the 2017 CSFL season saw Army West Point and Navy cruise to convincing wins, defending champion Penn win a backyard rivalry game and Cornell open its season with a victory over Caldwell. Three teams are now 2-0 in conference play after two weeks of the season. WEEK 2 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK Offensive Player of the Week: Will Griffen, RB, Cornell (Schuylerville, N.Y.) Griffen accounted for 140 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns in leading Cornell to a 48-20 win over Caldwell. 2017 Week 1 Review

The first week of the 2017 CSFL season saw the defending champions from Penn with a convincing win, Army West Point with a dominant effort, Navy with a hard fought road win and Franklin Pierce with a narrow victory over Mansfield in what proved to be the best game of the week. WEEK 1 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK Offensive Player of the Week: Eddie Jenkins, QB, Penn (Pittsburgh, Pa.) Jenkins led the defending league champions to a convincing 69-6 win on the road at Caldwell after accounting for four total touchdowns. He was nearly perfect in the passing game, completing 11-of-16 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns. Jenkins also added 83 rushing yards and one touchdown on just 10 carries to finis

2017 Season Opens This Weekend

The Collegiate Sprint Football League will open the 2017 season with a slate of four games this weekend, highlighted by Caldwell hosting its inaugural game against the defending league champions from Penn. Navy and Chestnut Hill will kick things off with the lone Friday night game of the week, while Penn will travel to Caldwell, Mansfield will visit Franklin Pierce and Post will travel to Army West Point Saturday. Cornell will have the bye week in the first week and will open the season Sept. 22.
