2017 Week 7 Review

Week seven of the CSFL season saw Army West Point clinch the North Division title with a win over Cornell and Penn claim the South Division title with a victory over Navy to set up the inaugural league championship game Nov. 10 between Army and Penn at West Point. Week six of the 2017 season saw four runaway games with the closest margin of victory in any game being 35 points. Army West Point remained unbeaten on the year, while Navy and Penn also posted wins to set up a divisional showdown in week seven and Chestnut Hill came away with a convincing win. Next week will decide the two divisional winners that will meet for the league title in two weeks. WEEK 6 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK Offensive Player of the Week: Mike Marino, QB, Chestnut Hill (Blue Bell, Pa.) Marino accounted for six total touchdowns, all in the first half, in leading Chestnut Hill to a 49-7 win over Caldwell last week. The fifth week of the CSFL season saw Army West Point remain unbeaten with a win over Chestnut Hill, Navy improve to 4-1 with a win over Post, Mansfield pick up its first win of the season over Caldwell and Cornell score a final minute comeback win over Franklin Pierce. WEEK 5 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK Offensive Player of the Week: Jake Gigliotti, RB, Army West Pont (Yorba Linda, Calif.) Gigliotti posted his first-career 100-yard rushing effort after rushing for 182 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries in Army’s 52-12 win over Chestnut Hill. The fourth week of the CSFL season saw Army West Point post a convincing win over rival Navy in the annual Star Game, Penn improve to 3-1, Franklin Pierce improve to 2-2 and Chestnut Hill pick up its first win of the season. WEEK 4 PLAYERS OF THE WEEK Offensive Player of the Week: Eddie Jenkins, QB, Penn (Pittsburgh, Pa.) Jenkins earns his second weekly honor of the season after leading Penn to a 45-14 road win at Cornell. He accounted for five total touchdowns in the game, passing for a league-high 335 yards and finishing with a league-high 359 yards of total offense. The third week of the CSFL season saw Army West Point remain unbeaten with a close victory against defending champion Penn, Navy improve to 3-0 with a shutout win over Franklin Pierce, Caldwell pick up its first program victory on the road at Post and Cornell come away with a win at Mansfield.
